Spaces

Spaces... How different they can be... Everything possible (and I really MEAN that!)...

Imagine... The biggest amount of energy we know about in our time. Something is in charge - call it what you want.... But something is in charge...

Here it is (and comes further on), or just some parts of it... - go get it!

1. SPACE (1984, Opus 4) - A short dream

Scoring: Marimba Solo

Duration: 4-7 Min.

Composed the 25th of December 1984 as a protest!! Too many of the composers of today abuse this fabulous instrument by raping it, constructing violent sounds, using xylophone mallets, and by all means do and create terrible acts to be executed on one of the most tender sounds in musical life!!
This was (and still is!!) my version of the true marimba sound.

Score Sample!

"3 Dreams" - suite:
1. Space
2. Beyond... (Opus 74)
3. Goodbye (Opus 88a)

First performance:
1985-05-28  Stadshallen Lund (Sweden)
Peter Wallin

Dedicated to Helmut von Sitar (daer, fantamal).

Between 2009-08-01 and 2019-07-31 published by New Hits Publishing (Nyborg, Denmark)

2. SPACE II (2011, Opus 201)

Tone of the Day - Music of the Year

Scoring:
Metal Mallet Instruments ad lib.

Duration: Various

A melodic canon. Space can be enormous - or minimal - or anything in between. Choose your (ensembles) part in space, and perform it Wherever, Whenever, with Whoever, However, on Whatever (Metal Mallet Instrument) in realtime. Remember though... The scene can be anywhere & anytime... The melodic source is served - You decide of the Space form.
